New version of Unc0ver jailbreak iPhone XS, XS Max and XR utility released. Now it supports Apple smartphones that run on the old version of iOS – 12.4.1. In addition, with Unc0ver 3.8.0 beta 1, you can now hack iPhone models equipped with an Apple A12 processor (that is, XS, XS Max and XR).
Unc0ver utility has also received compatibility with iPhone and iPad models that were not previously supported. The main thing is that iOS 12 should be installed on them no later than 12.4.1.
How to hack iOS 12 using Unc0ver:
- Delete the OTA-update file through the settings (“General” → “Storage” → “System”)
- Reboot device
- Launch Safari and open ignition.fun. Locate Unc0ver through the search bar, click the “Get” button and install the application.
- Go to “Settings” → “General” → “Profiles” or “Profiles and device management.” Click on the name of the Unc0ver developer and establish trust in him.
- Launch the Unc0ver application, click the Jailbreak button and wait a bit. The device will restart, and the Cydia icon will appear on the home screen.
After hacking, you can run Cydia and install the necessary tweaks. If Unc0ver hangs on the inscription “Extracting Cydia…”, reboot the device and try to jailbreak it again.
Unc0ver makes little sense now, and staying on iOS 12.4.x just for the sake of jailbreaking would be pretty weird. The fact is that checkra1n can crack iOS 13, including the latest release builds. However, checkra1n does not work with smartphones and tablets in which processors newer than A11 are installed, which means that it cannot be jailbroken on iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, as well as newer devices. If you upgraded your device to iOS 13.x, you won’t be able to roll back to iOS 12.4.x.
