The iPhone has a convenient but not very obvious ability to filter spam messages. You can separate messages from ordinary people from the newsletter.
To enable filtering, go to “Settings” → “Messages” and scroll to the bottom of the screen. Next, you need to activate the switch opposite the option “Filter by sender“.
After that, the “Messages” application will have two sections: “Contacts and SMS” and “Unknown senders”. The first one will include correspondence with people who are stored in your phone book, and the second – messages from contacts you don’t know, including various spam. If you wish, you can go to the “Unknown senders” section and see if there are any messages interesting to you there (after all, sometimes even advertising can be useful).
Keep in mind that messages from people who are not in your contact list will not be displayed in push notifications, that is, you will not see them until you open the Messages application. If your work involves communicating with a huge number of people and you should not miss messages from strangers, it is better not to activate this option, because you risk not reading the message, which can be very important. In all other cases, this option will effectively protect you from intrusive advertising mailing and spam that you did not subscribe to.
